Q: How do I become a member and create a profile?
A: Click here to view our membership options. If you choose anything but a free membership, you will be directed to our checkout system to facilitate credit card payment.
After creating your membership account, you will be directed to your member profile page. To edit your member profile, click the 'Profile' tab on your member account page, which lets you add a personal or business name, category, and biographical information. A personal or business name is required if you want to be listed in our member directory.
Q: My Name is not showing up in the Peaceburgh member directory.
A: In order to be listed in our member directory, you must have a Professional, Non-Profit, or Business membership. You also must fill out at least your personal or business name in your member profile, which can be accessed by clicking 'My Account' at the top of your screen (you must login first), and then selecting the 'Edit My Profile' tab on your member account page.
Q: Can I advertise my business or nonprofit on Peaceburgh?
A: Yes! We provide both our members and the community around us to advertise in several different ways:
- Print advertisements in our monthly print edition, from 1/16th page to full page size.
- Web banner ads, sold on a pay-per-click basis.
- Classified ads, including services, products, merchandise, and personals.
- Sponsorship of official Peaceburgh events
- Publication of community event listings, which appear on our website and optionally in our print edition as well.
All event and advertisement submission information is available on our advertising page. You will notice that we give our members discounted rates.
Q: How do I create a banner ad?
A: You can find our rates on our advertising page. Or, if you are ready to begin, click here to access the banner ad creation form. You will be asked for a number of items:
- Ad Name: This simply helps identify your ad for site administrators, and will not be displayed.
- Ad Groups: Our site has two 'groups' of ads, 'Premium Placement' and 'Standard'. Premium Placement ads appear on the top of every page, and are limited in quantity so that each ad shows up more frequently. Standard ads appear lower down on the page, and are free to members (non-members pay $0.05 per click).
- File Attachments: This is where you upload your image. It must be 125 x 125 pixels square; otherwise it will be resized to fit.
- Destination URL and Mouseover: input the URL the ad will point visitors to, and the text which appears when a visitor hovers their cursor over the ad area.
- Status: automatically set to 'Pending'. Once your ad has been approved by an administrator, it will be made active.
