Join the Allegheny General Hospital Integrated Medicine Program for a day of lectures and demonstrations focusing on stress relief, the importance of maintaining good health and the power of the Mind-Body Connection.

Featuring a Keynote address by Barry Bittman, MD:
Dr.  Bittman is a leading physician in the field of mind-body medicine, as well as a neurologist, author, international speaker, inventor and award-winning producer/director. He serves as CEO and Medical Director of the Mind-Body Wellness Center, a comprehensive, interdisciplinary outpatient medical facility in Meadville, Pa.

 

Among his ground-breaking research is the use of recreational music making (aka “drum circles”) as a powerful healing tool. He did specific studies with nurses suffering from burnout, adolescents in group homes, and cancer survivors, and discovered a universal improvement of the quality of life. Among the many benefits was a noticeable drop in cortisol, the stress hormone.
